Walking Around City Nightlife — Phoenix Heart
Walking through the city’s nightlife,
observing bystanders,
dwelling on the trampoline tricks
of trauma and melancholy.
My heart turns to stone,
gazing into realms of dark fog.
Copying and pasting clichés
from conventional advice.
The sound of crickets echoes
from those who claim to help.
I feel sick in the head for things not my fault,
yet I blame myself far too much.
They said the treatment was working,
but years of abuse trained my mind
to retreat into protective custody—
guarding, pushing me away
from the dangers of darkness.
This moment in life is centered
in a pile of wicked games,
where the outcast feels more like my own creation.
No longer a product of your consumer standards,
I’m learning now,
ready to turn your brand into a going-out-of-business strategy.
The spotlight narrows—
preparing for the first day
of a doomed enterprise.
Cloaked.
