Darkness & Despair

It Rains and It Pours, Carry On — Phoenix Heart

By Poe

Suppress the burdens of broken wants, needs, and desires.
Tuck them away, where they can’t reach the light.
Now, glorify your misery—
don’t mislead its glorification,
the root of too many “come ons” or “I’m just going to end it.”
This nonsense of a pity party has dragged on for far too long.
You’re fueling a fiery downfall,
one that even a flood won’t be able to halt, not even to a standstill.
This is a helpless, repeating pattern that needs release.
It brings the loss of your company to keep,
a bloodline from early childhood, rich with love,
but now so far away from your reality,
even when the wolves start their howling.
Suppress the burdens of broken—
suppress the burdens of broken wants, needs, and desires.
Tuck them away, where they can’t reach the light.
Now, glorify your misery—
don’t mislead its glorification.
