To Whom — New Poems
If the enemy wants to flash the voodoo,
compute the right way.
Don’t riddle around the merry-go-round;
it’ll only cost you your temptation.
If the enemy wants to strike with whispers,
let your silence weigh like stone.
For words unguarded feed the tempest
and leave your mind dethroned.
If the enemy weaves a web of waiting,
move with patience, not with haste.
Rushing blind into the chaos
only feeds the bitter taste.
If the enemy tempts with gilded visions,
see the cracks beneath the gold.
For promises wrapped in fleeting splendor
are but shackles spun of old.
If the enemy stands in veiled deception,
light the fire, burn the veil.
Truth will stand when lies have crumbled;
steel will rise where doubt has failed.
“Let’s just be puzzle pieces in this adulthood, whispering for dumb
fucks to admit—
their agony is nothing but bitter-sweet delusion.”
— Times
“…all the setbacks
The ambience of self-pity
creates a reservoir of nothing but staircases
that lead to nothing more—
but a better horizon.”
