Something in the Air — New Poems

By Poe

“Something’s in the air I’m breathing today.
Silence—it’s all I need from you right now.
 Silence—from everyone right now.
 Let me figure this out.
 I got this. Somehow.
 Thank you…”
 I confess—I’m lost.
 Something’s in the air—
 Collapsing lungs,
 Fatigue sinking in.
I heard you once say I was your everything.
I heard you once say I was your charm.
 But now—
 Something’s in the air,
 And I’m drying up.
 Shook.
 Destroyed.
 Torn into a million pieces,
 Scattered in the unknown.
 You didn’t know I knew.
 But I knew.
I knew you had someone else.
 And here I stand—
 A damn fool.
