Dear Memory Maker — New Poems
All you wanted was to enjoy
A new memory maker,
Something that stirs a feeling
You never thought you’d know.
But inside, the days are burdened,
Carrying the weight of past ties—
People, places, things.
A host of ghosts,
Unseen, but ever-present.
He responds with a voice sharp,
A hostility forged in the depths of this endless rage,
Not by choice, but out of defense.
All he seeks is a moment,
A flicker of joy,
With the memory maker in his hands—
Yet the world turns cold,
And others—
The ones around him,
The ones who once shared in the dream—
Strive to steal
The briefest sliver of happiness he dares to feel.
