I confess! I’m lost! — An Inconvenient Attachment

By Poe

I confess! I’m lost!
 Something’s in the air—
 collapsing lungs,
 fatigued feelings.
I heard you once say I was once your everything,
but I also heard you once say
 I was once your charm.
But now, something is in the air.
 Now
 I’m drying up,
 shook,
 destroyed,
torn into a million pieces of the unknown.
 You didn’t know.
 I knew!
 Knew you had someone else,
me standing here like a damn fool!
 Something’s in the air!
 I’m breathing today!
