Don’t sit there — An Inconvenient Attachment

By Poe

Don’t sit there
letting what happened take your well-being.
 See the better in yourself,
because the way you acted in the past
 was nothing to you.
 Tell yourself you’re new,
 because trying to understand,
 feeling like nothing,
is when our faults fail us,
while trying to care too much.
Our heart is bigger than our thoughts.
Listening to those who try to help,
trying too hard not to fight back—
when all is done, you will come back.
 Thoughts are easily crushed
when we are listening to those helping,
 but in all,
 the truth hurts.
